PREPARING TO RECEIVE HOLY COMMUNION
On the way to Mass, think about what you are going to do:
Gather in your mind and heart your joys and burdens and prepare to present them to the Lord.
As you come into church bless yourself with Holy Water and before entering the pew,
genuflect and make the sign of the cross. As you wait for Mass to start be still in mind and heart.
As you wait to receive Holy Communion speak to God in prayer –
use prayers you know or use your own heartfelt prayers.
When the priest or minister shows you the Sacred Host, look at it and say ‘Amen’ with faith and hope.
Return to your place and join in the hymn and also thank God that you now have
communion with Him.
MARY’S MEALS BACKPACK PROJECT
Our parish is involved in the Mary’s Meals Backpack project which provides children
in developing countries with school-wares and clothes.
Items such as stationary, children’s’ clothes (4 – 12 years), balls etc can be placed in a backpack
and labelled boy/girl accordingly and brought to the church/parish office.
Please note: no foodstuffs or liquids due to customs.
We welcome Fr. Joseph Kimoga from Uganda who will be assisting in the Parish
for the next few weeks. In these times of priest shortages, his presence is a very welcome
addition to the clergy.

GIFT AID 2019
The Diocese has provided individual letters for each parishioner who had a current
Gift Aid Declaration for the tax year 2018/19. These letters are now available for collection
at the back of Annunciation Church and will be handed/posted out at Holy Family.
For Holy Family, a small number of names were not transferred to the merged records last year.
A separate claim for these has now been submitted and letters will be provided shortly.
Please note that for Annunciation the addresses shown may not have been updated
from the date the original declaration was signed.
Could we please ask that everyone in the scheme collects their envelope and checks the details.
If these are incorrect, or if there is no envelope, or if you are a tax payer and would like to join
the scheme then please contact Peter Sharp - Tel 01246 569417 or click below (for Annunciation).
For Holy Family please speak to Tony O’Malley. To join the scheme you need to pay by standing order
or have an offertory box, both of which can also be provided upon request.
As a result of the promotion at Annunciation earlier this year, 57 additional gift Aid declarations
were completed. Most years we are made aware of parishioners who have signed declarations
but aren’t included in the Diocese records and we are able to claim back
up to 4 years providing substantial additional funds for us.
IT ISN’T TOO LATE TO SIGN-UP!
If you missed our recent sign-up opportunity,
you can still do so at any time via the Volunteer page in the Parish menu
