FAREWELL MGR. AUBERT
Mgr. Aubert will soon be leaving our parish to take up the position of Parish Priest
in Doncaster. Mgr’s presence here has been nothing short of vital and he has never been afraid
of turning his hand to any task required, he will be greatly missed,
and we all wish him well in his new parishes.
MASS TIME CHANGES
Click below to read about the upcoming changes to the current Mass Times,
that will come into effect as of Sunday 28 April 2019.
Times and locations for praying the Stations of the Cross, and for Adoration
of the Blessed Sacrament throughout Lent can now be viewed via the Prayer menu,
or by clicking below.
STATIONS OF THE CROSS AND
EXPOSITION OF THE BLESSED SACRAMENT
You are invited to sign up to be Guardians of the Blessed Sacrament during Exposition,
and/or lead Stations of the Cross during Lent.
Lists are at the back of each Church.
OFFICE OF MORNING PRAYER
Each Wednesday the Office of Morning Prayer will be said at
Church of the Holy Family from 8.00am.
This is an ideal opportunity to increase our devotions in Lent.
CARDS FROM KIRK EDGE
The Piety Stall at the Annunciation Church now has stock of a variety of beautiful cards
from Kirk Edge Convent, including Mothers Day and Easter cards.
IT ISN’T TOO LATE TO SIGN-UP!
If you missed our recent sign-up opportunity,
you can still do so at any time via the Volunteer page in the Parish menu
by clicking below, or by using a form from the back of church.
Please post forms in the sealed boxes at the back of church
(in envelopes at Holy Family).
Boxes of envelopes for 2019/20 are now available at the back of both Churches
near the rear entrance. Please collect your own box, and for Annunciation only, please check
that your address details are correct. If not, then please record the amended details
on the sheet provided. Please remember to put the box number as well as your name and address.
If you do not have a box and would like one, then a member of the Finance Committee
will be present at the end of each Mass on March 17/24/31 at Annunciation, or for Holy Family
there will be helpers available at the back of Church. If you use the envelope scheme
you do not commit to giving a set amount each week. If you pay tax and have not signed
a Gift Aid form, these will also be available after each Mass. It costs nothing, only one simple form
needs completing which covers all future years, and the Parish gains an extra 25p for every £1
that you give under the envelope scheme, or by bank standing order payments.
Gift Aid monies are a very important source of funds for us and, by way of example,
over the past 25 years provided sufficient funds for Annunciation to wholly fund the substantial
net cost of the recent re-ordering. Total annual gift aid could be increased substantially
if more parishioners who are tax payers used offertory boxes or standing orders.
Click below for more information on the scheme.
