OUR LADY OF WALSINGHAM
TO VISIT ALL ENGLISH
CATHEDRALS

The Guild of Our Lady of Ransom in partnership with the National Shrine of
Our Lady at Walsingham announces a two year ‘Dowry Tour’, which will
see the statue of Our Lady of Walsingham leaving her hallowed seat in
the Slipper Chapel visiting the Cathedrals of England.

This tour is part of the spiritual preparation for England’s re-dedication as
the Dowry of Mary around the Solemnity of the Annunciation in 2020.
Both the Tour and the rededication have the support of the Bishops.
This is a call to a spiritual renewal to support the New Evangelisation
in our Country.

Cardinal Vincent Nichols says
“This is a moment of great promise …. for the Church in this country
and for our mission”

Click below for further information and information on the
developing tour schedule.

WENTWORTH VISIT

There will be an outing to Wentworth Garden Centre on Friday 6 July,
of which there are seven places still available.
A coach will leave the Olde House (where parking is available)
at 10.30am and leaves Wentworth at approximately 3.30pm.
Coach cost is £11 payable by 17 June to Margaret Frost - tel. 558381.

Water Damage

Snow has left the roofs of both the entrance areas to the
Annunciation Church hall weakened and in need of work.
Please be careful and attentive when using these areas.
In the coming months we hope to begin redecoration
and other remedial works.

Care and Use
of the Church Hall

All parishioners are asked to please leave the parish hall
on Sundays, ready for the activities on Monday.
The tables and chairs set up in the smaller part of the hall
need to be left as they are. The tables and chairs in the
larger part of the hall need to be stacked away.
Hopefully after morning coffee it will be a case of
'many hands make light work'. Also, please be aware that some
of the chairs are already marked with food and
other sticky substances. Please value our furniture.

Thank you.

Food Collections

Food collections are still needed for the various organisations.

OFFERTORY ENVELOPES

Boxes of envelopes for 2018/19 are now available at the back
of both Churches near the rear entrance.
Please collect your own box and (for Annunciation only) please check
that your address details are correct. If not, then please record
the amended details on the sheet provided,
also, please remember to put the box number as well as
your name and address.

If you do not have a box and would like one then please contact
Annunciation or Holy Family below.
If you do use the envelope scheme, remember,
you are not committing to give a set amount each week.

If you pay tax and have not signed a Gift Aid form then please
do so. It costs nothing, only one simple form needs
completing which covers all future years, and the Parish gains
an extra 25p for every £1 that you give under the envelope scheme
or by bank standing order payments. Gift Aid monies are a very important
source of funds for us and, by way of example, over the past 25 years
provided sufficient funds for Annunciation to wholly fund the substantial
net cost of the recent re-ordering.
Please use the contacts below.

Could all those who contribute by cheque,
please note they should be made payable to
'Our Lady Queen of Peace' and not 'Annunciation.'

Thank you.

ST WILFRIDS CENTRE
VOLUNTEERS REQUIRED

Did you know that volunteers in our kitchen and café gave around
371 hours in August and accounted for 30% of all volunteer hours?
Or that volunteers who act as greeters at the door gave 100 hours
in September and 114 hours in August, opening the door
and welcoming clients, visitors, volunteers and staff to the centre?

We have 138 volunteers and their average age is 58.
By volunteering with St Wilfrid’s Centre you will be helping
to support homeless, vulnerable and socially excluded adults.
We are always looking for new volunteers in our many different roles.

We especially need door greeters (Monday afternoon)
and people willing to cover holidays and sickness.
Afternoon café volunteers
are also needed. We offer training, support and pay travel expenses.
If you would like further information please contact Tracey
(Volunteers Co-ordinator) by clicking below.
